Anara
Anara is one of the Twin Gods, called the Dancers. Where Anara dances, life springs forth in all its forms; every beginning, every birth, every wild and unbidden thing traces back to the Great Dance. Anara’s domains are life, beginnings, chaos, and creation.
Anara is named as god or goddess in turn. With Dhaara, twin and opposite, Anara sweeps through the heavens, and where the Great Dance passes, life emerges. Behind Anara comes Dhaara, and with the passing of Dhaara is death and endings.
In the World
The Veil of Veritas holds Anara and Dhaara as the Two Truths of all existence: in Anara is found the beginning, in Dhaara the ending. Their scripture is the Book of Two Truths. The Luminar are said to carry the spark of Anara within them, and to have a Luminar bless a newborn is counted a great blessing.
In Pelegor, Anara is worshiped as the Tidemother and stands alongside the Stormfather in the Eternal Tide.
In Thalassan, Anara is seen as distinctly female and is said to have blessed the prophet Aenaia, who went on to create the Aenaian Rite.
In Shoren, Anara is worshiped not as a being, but instead as an inner savagery called Anrai, which stands always in struggle with Dharen.
In the present age, a man named Donnil has been declared Anara reborn and given the name Syvren, gathering the faithful across Gallance and preaching of a war to come.
