Tholeon is the heart of Thalassan, the rich and well-watered center where the great rivers run down to the sea. Here stand the Dancers, the twin sacred mountains of Aeliossa and Velaessa, and beneath them the Palace at Orenassa, the oldest seat in the kingdom and the place where every Thalassan monarch is crowned. From Orenassa the Priestess of the Aenaian Rite leads the faith, making Tholeon the religious and political center of the nation at once.

Tholeon is the domain of House Ioessa, which held the throne longer than any other house, a century and a half of peace remembered as the golden age of Thalassan. With the throne empty, the Priestess in their lands, and the sacred capital under their hand, the Palatine of Ioessa presses the strongest claim to the crown, though the Priestess has yet to bless any claimant.
